Legit spa insurance claim

Hi guys, I just wonder if there would be any bad consequences from claiming insurance for those legit spas, such as Kelly spa. Apparently, these legit spas do not offer any extra other than regular massage and they seem to provide RMT receipts. Does anyone know?

If your Insurance Company has flagged the spa as not having a RMT actually preforming the service or any extras are being provided or that the spa, they won't pay. If the spa says that they will claim it on your behalf, watch out as well (lots of fraud when they bill for services when you are nowhere near the place) - if the spa (or anyplace else for that matter) wants to know exactly what your benefits cover and how much, it is a bad sign.

Thank you. Kelly spa is the one that I wanted to try. I heard they are legit and girls there provide decent massage.

Not necessarily a bad sign. Sometimes they do ask to make sure you can claim for some particular coverage or not since there are a few different types of coverage. RMT, Accupuncture, Osteopathic and such.

Sorry, I was not talking about coverage per visit. I was talking about wanting to know how much you can claim per year.

As far as how much you can claim per year depends on what your benefit plan allows..... Also whenever you get a receipt for insurance purposes there should be a RMT Registration number of that partcular individual who supplied you with the service... This way insurance companies can verify the legitimacy of the massage practitioner.

Daisy, Aileen, give great massages and are nice looking. Aileen's the prettiest but Daisy is a close second. Linda gives a great massage and is quite strong but not as pretty. Dana and Yuki give decent massages. Never been a fan of Nancy.

Agree with you,I had been going there for quite sometime now, and always try to see Eileen,she is very professional and friendly,if she is not available I go with Daisy.For a legit Spa the prices are very cheap,sadly for the girls they have some very cheap customers too,they think because is a legit Spa they are not supposed to give tips,some if they do ,gave $2 or $5 tips..The girls deserve better tips because providing real massage is hard work IMHO.I always tip them $20 or $30.

Sorry, just to be clear: If a RMT, Osteopath, Chiropodist, Acupuncturist, Naturopath, Pedorthist, whatever asks to know exactly what your yearly coverage is (why do they even need to know?) plus wants to submit on your behalf where they get directly reimbursed, be careful. An unscrupulous location might start billing when you aren't there and max out your coverage. Are you going to complain to your insurance company that you lost all your coverage to a massage parlour? Doubt many would admit to the fraud.

On the other had, if they are just giving you receipts (safest) or submitting on your behalf but the money comes to you (still don't like them having my account details) then it isn't as bad.

That's a good point. I was quite often asked by some customers whether the spa bill directly to the insurance Co or not. I thought they just don't want to pay out of their pocket first or lazy to claim by themselves. In my case I have never come across any who bills directly to Insurance Co for RMT except for the dental coverage.

Also, if the receipt is in the name of one practitioner and you saw another practitioner, I wouldn't try claiming through insurance. That's a fraud by both you and the practitioner. It's not to say that they aren't great at giving a massage, but the receipt is worthless.

Fraud is fraud. If you are using insurance to receive other services then your integrity is in question.
