Sure, some dentists are more talented than others. Just like some escorts give better bjs than others. Not everyone's the same. But don't kid yourself, these dentists went through rigorous testing when they were in school. I've heard some professors in dental school, are real knit pickers. If a student didn't do fillings and root canals the way the professors wanted it done, they'd have to get it perfect, or they'd get failing grades.
And yes, not all dentists have all the specialized equipment. It's just not worth the investment if a machine is only used once or twice per month. If you need something done that requires specialized equipment, and your dentist doesn't have it, he will send you to a dentist that has it.

Ugly gray amalgam may be necessary if the tooth can't be kept dry. If moisture gets into the tooth, composite won't stick and will leak over time.

Sometimes "giving up" is the prudent thing to do. Some teeth have curved roots that can break during extraction and if it is an upper molar, there is a risk of pushing the root tip into the maxillary sinus so stopping the procedure and referring to an oral surgeon is the prudent thing to do. Sometimes the extraction looks routine on the xray but turns into a night mare. No shame in cutting your losses. This is another perspective

Not me Carlos. My wife is heading back to China soon, for Chinese New Years. I asked her to bring a gift for my daughter and to meet my ex-girlfriend (the mother of my daughter) while she is there.

Akward request yes, but mail often gets lost when you send things to China, unless you go through UPS or one of the Chinese express companies.
