I used think this site needed a lot of moderation. But think about it. All the shit stuff gets buried eventually as the trolls get bored when people stop reacting to them. Trolls post the way the post cause they want validation through acknowledgement of their existence. Everytime they post something we don't like and we respond, they get what they want. Easiest is to ignore them and they will move on. Compared to other moderated review sites, this site is surprisingly better. Terb and Caerf are run by idiots and hypocrites and SP411 is an asylum run by the inmates. Here, we do what we want, read who we want write what we want, ignore who we want. If I'm tired to seeing someone's garbage posts, I ignore him and poof, I control my own reading experience.

You're right about the trolls, but I do think there's a lot of annoying one-upmanship and shilling that no amount of ignore list curation will help. Also, as much as I hate to admit it, some particularly abrasive posters share some decent intel. If we got rid of the advertisers and shills and had a separate section for all this talk radio crap, I'd say my experience would be about on par with what I got from Terb back when I was more of a SP guy.

To be fair, Terb is good for you if you are into SPs. You won't get much info about massage parlors and MPAs in terb. They don't allow any detail reviews about MPAs to protect the SP advertisers.

I like the fact that this paradise is unmoderated. Honestly, some of these trolls are annoying, but I feel that if this board becomes over moderated that we'd lose out on a lot of good intel (as you said).

Too many places on the internet are overly sanitized these days, it's nice to have an output where you can say whatever you want.
