BMC, I agree we should all be able to have an open and respectful discussion around Trump (and most topics for that matter). You raise some good points on why you like Trump. I'll be the first to admit I don't follow the political side of things that much and most of my 'dislike' (hate is too strong of a word) for the man is what I see of his character. Sure, some of this is embellished and played up by the media but it's also clear from his tweets, interviews and actions that this guy is arrogant, dishonest, always playing the blame game, big time bully and not the brightest kid on the block (IMHO).

Having said this, I will admit he's not afraid to rock the boat and his bullying does result in benefits for the US. Plus, if nothing else, he's entertaining

Just like this hobby...different strokes for different folks. There's no right or wrong, just opinion and preference.

Firstly, if it was not obvious I am a Bernie Bro and a fan of Social Democracy (not communism). As for Biden, it is hold your nose and vote for the lessor of two evils. To support Trump is to be a fan of arbitrary authoritarianism and to ignore his extremely long list of lies, crimes and vulgar stupidities. I am not going to defend Biden and his senior moments, I just hate Trump more. The race is just about lost for Bernie, but by staying in it he continues to move the posture of the Democrats in a more humane direction. Trickle down economics has never worked, and never can work for the majority of people.

He says many dumb things and it's a shame that in the greatest country to have ever existed, they could not find a better candidate to lead them. However, for me, the media's complete and utter failure is the bigger story. Most of my relatives and friends unquestioningly accept every anti Trump story out there--and many if not most--come from a media that has given up on REPORTING and become activists and advocates.

Once upon a time I wanted to be a journalist, and I am astounded at how far and fast the profession has sold itself out over Trump. When he first started accusing them of fake news, his words were mostly irresponsible and inaccurate, but the media has fallen all over itself in the rush to make his accusations reality. Every story that is even remotely connected to the man (and many that aren't), are run through the filter of "how can cover this to make Trump look bad?"

The result has been an almost complete polarization of society. No one listens to the other side anymore. If you are anti-Trump, it's almost reflex to assume that anyone who is for him is wrong in just about every respect, and if you're pro Trump the other side is just a bunch of liars who will distort everything in their efforts to get rid of the man. Journalism could have been a constructive influence, it has been the opposite.

Huge part of the reason he become president was that he fought the media because the media attacked him from the very beginning.

Also, every politician attacked him in the US and every liberal politician attacked him in Europe.

Actually, the media blasted Donald Trump from the start when they twisted his words and ran smear campaigns against him. They showed favouritism towards his opponents during the debates. Why would he try to win them over? Besides, Jeff Zucker, the President of CNN already has a motive against Trump because they've had a rivalry dating back to their days on NBC working on The Apprentice. CNN employees have even come forward in interviews stating that Zucker mandated them to cover Trump 24/7. It frustrated them because they wanted to be journalists but Zucker turned them into pundits.

Years ago, Trump was friends with all these phony Hollyweird celebrities and the media loved him even if he already had the reputation of an arrogant prick. It's only because he ran under the Republican banner that he's all of a sudden reviled the way he is. Hollywood and the liberal media have turned on him overnight like the two-faced losers that they are. They used to worship the ground Harvey Weinstein walked on and covered up all his rapes and exploitation of young actresses. It's when all the accusers came forward that they started to act like they were oblivious to all his crimes after all these decades.

Epstein and Weinstein were part of the liberal Hollywood elite until their celebrity friends discarded them because they wanted no part of their newly reported scandals. Lol!
