US crude futures settle at $86.25/BBL, lowest since January 25.

Citi sees copper and nickel prices much lower in six months time due to weakness in China. Exploration plays will be at risk. My current favorite stocks are WEAT and CORN, along with NTR. Food is going to be the most bullish commodity for the next two years due to drought and climate risks. Oil is still looking good, especially after the SPR ends and US midterms are over.

Not even half way through the month. I still believe it is going higher. China is starting to open up, OPEC isn't increasing production. I know there is a recession coming (although we are probably already in one), but still believe it is going up.

I had to look up WCE, never heard of them before. In the oil and gas sector I did pretty well with WCP and SU in 2022, mind I have been holding them for a while and writing covered calls and collecting dividends, even bought some WCP back in March 2020 when it dropped below a dollar a share. my ACB for WCP was under $4, I ended up selling half my holdings in mid January this year and the earnings covered the cost of the other half I still own, so basically those shares are free as I got all my money back that I used to buy the shares.

Today I decided to take a position in SHOP, bought the shares and immediately sold a long term covered call. The income from the call returned just under 20% of my initial purchase price of the shares. After hours the share price dropped as people were not happy with the results and the guidance but I will have them until the call expires so lots of time for the price to go back up. Besides, the reduced price is still above my ACB after selling the covered call.

I had wanted to make this play with Tesla but I didn't get the money from the sale of my WCP shares until after Tesla started its breakout. I was looking to get in around the $110 range, a colleague from work actually got in at that range. He had been saving to buy a Tesla but used the money he had saved to buy the shares instead, good move on his part.

I bought a few thousand shares of Air Canada stocks last yr at $16.75 . I sold half of them last month, made decent money. I am still sitting with a few thousand shares. My only worry is what will happen if the war in Ukraine escalates into chemical or nuclear war. The way I see it, that war is not Russia and Ukraine war any more. It becomes Russian and US, Nato war, using Ukraine as their battle ground. Nobody really knows where this war is heading. Putin is not the kind of guy who will back down.

I mainly trade in the oil sector and I’ve been holding all my shares since the crash in 2-3 weeks we should be seeing a bounce back a lot of insiders are buying back into there companies from what I see

All time high for Los Andes Copper (LA.V) this week. They are cashed up, have received court approval to drill again, and PFS results are out. As I’ve said for some time, this company remains a prime candidate to be acquired by a major at a hefty premium given how undervalued it remains — it’s only a matter of time.
