Well turns out the banning was a result of me mentioning something illegal.

Personally if that is the true reason I think it was heavy handed and that there should have been a warning sent to me and a deletion of the thread.

I wouldn't mind a PM from the mod that banned me so that I can get the truth.

Anyways, I think when people get banned it might be a good idea to say what that reason is since:

1) how are you going to prevent the same thing from happening if you don't know the reason.
2) how are you going to prevent all the gossip as to the reason for the banning.

Come on isn't that common sense? Why not make the mod job easier?

Well it's pretty lame and has nothing to do with hobbying. So I'm waiting for an actual mod to tell me so that I don't spread any misinformation. I mean if it is true then I can see their point but it was a joke and I can't see it being read any other way.

It's funny but I always imagined my banning to be much more interesting and dramatic.

Upon checking the details FC, it turns out you have been warned once before about discussing drugs prior to your recent suspension. massageplanet.net has a zero tolerance policy in place for Streetwalkers, Drugs and for the underage. We dont need additional hassle from the police due to those subjects so we don't tolerate it.

Most suspensions and banishments are not interesting or dramatic but if you need more excitement in your life you might find it at the Casino.

I never recieved a pm re: drugs so sorry about that. In the boards defense the old e-mail address was one that I hadn't checked in years so if it was sent there instead of a PM that's why I missed it. Anyways, I've updated it with a new e-mail address so hopefully I will recieve the next warning.

And come on I was just trying to lighten the mood with my imagination/banning comment.

As for the comments made joking about being under the influence of drugs as an explanation for weird posts didn't seem to be that serious to me.

Anyways, Sheik..... sorry I'm being bitchy about this I just didn't see it the same way as you. I wasn't talking about selling and clearly it was a joke..... everyone knows that I don't mix my substances. Too bad the only socially acceptable drug is alcohol otherwise I'd suggest we squash this with a few pints..... and suggesting to make peace over a cigarette or cigar just doesn't seem right.

Sorry guys.... had to at least vent about it for a bit seeing as I had a week to stew about it. The shitty part was having to find out second hand what the banning was about after the fact. For those who have never been banned when you try and log on it tells you the reason (mine was left blank) and the date you can return (assuming the ban is temporary).

Anyways, it is off my chest and over. But the rant/post was also intended for those who were wondering why I was banned. I know that people are always curious about that so I figured I'd post about it.

Thanks K and JTK for the kind words and jokes. As far as I can tell the board was fine without me. I went from B&S shill to GTA MP trotter to grumpy old guy in the corner. Honestly though it's been an 8 year ride and a lot of crazy things have happened but I've hit a point where I'm questioning the role of massageplanet.net and hobbying in my life. Still haven't quite figured that out yet but what I can say is that 1 session in the last month and one week has helped a lot in giving me perspective on things.

Lots of things in life aint healthy, but we do them anyway. Sugar, red meat, alcohol, seafood, barbeque, tap water.

IMHO, it's all about moderation. If you love women and love sex and you can pay 150 bucks for a hot session with an MPA, as long as you can keep it in perspective and say once or twice a month, you're fine. Moderation.

Right now, I have recently met a very nice woman and have been dating her for a few weeks. She seems great and I have not been hobbying at all (though even before I met her, I was making sure that it was only in moderation)

Still, I feel the urge to make an appointment at Allure......Must fight urge...

Unfortunately I believe for some people there IS no middle ground.

A normal client has what I call a "volume control" whereby they can moderate their participation in the hobby.

IE> they go when they feel like going...

Addicts have an "ON/OFF" switch whereby they're either involved 100% or not at all.

IE> their week revolves around attending MP appointments, thinking about MP appointments, then reading massageplanet.net in between.

Alcoholics can't have one drink and I don't believe MP addicts can have "just one appt."

The high is going from one appt to the next.

TRUE acceptance of the problem and implementation of change are another matter and it takes time and alot of perseverance.

Anyway, I'm just thinking out loud and not pointing fingers at FC or anybody else.

If money was no object I could easily set up a nice 7 day schedule and that alone gives me pause for concern.

Hey I think one session in the span of a month plus a week is pretty damn good for a guy like me that was going once sometimes twice a week.

And if it makes any difference I am not planning my next trip..... not even sure who I would go see. Honestly I can say that I've abandoned my short list and my tdl list is non existant.

Think the point you are missing is that I've gone from habitual binging to occassional use...... that's a quantum leap that a lot of people can't make.

Trust me there were times in the past back in the IT days where I find myself making that turn into the plaza and "accidentally" spending $140 and walking out feeling shitty about myself. I feel like I've left that person behind.

And S you are forgetting that the town whore comment was a joke and a comparison (can never remember if it's a similie or metaphor.... think the former is the one that uses like or as). IF I say that someone is as big as a brick shithouse..... I am not saying that they are a BSH but that they are very large. So quit throwing that back in my face.

I do consider your advice as you too are experienced in the scene. But understand you are just one voice of many..... not even including my own. And while I appreciate your concern, I'm doing much better thank you very much.

As for reality I just came back from a great date. I'm beaming with pride at the physical changes I've made for myself (lost 14 lbs.... basically back to my university weight except with a lower amount of body fat), the improvements that I've been making to my home (that I am paying off) and the work that I do with children, not to mention puting more time to other pursuits like reading. Not to mention the $1 K or more that I saved by not hobbying like I used to.

Hey no arguments there..... it was an addiction and many will argue that it still is an addiction but right now I feel like I'm winning. I've been able to make peace with a number of issues and started to move forward by directing my energy at more positive things in my life.

Right now I feel like the runningback that is past his prime watching others play the game. Sure I miss it but have no illusions that I can't go back to what I was doing in the past...... now please understand that I'm making a comparison here and not suggesting that I am a running back..... unless you count in madden.
