Apart from the grind of trying to survive the pandemic nothing much is going on with me. With time on my hands today I remembered telling my family about something I saw as a small child in England. My family is convinced it never happened, that I have a false memory. It is a Sunday morning, my family and I are driving to church and we pass the village pub. On the front lawn there are about ten men sleeping and they are covered in cuts and bruises. Apparently they got really drunk, had a brawl, and were left to sleep it off. My Dad insists the police would not have allowed that to happen, but I have a strong visual memory of the scene. The town I lived in was pretty violent, and I have many memories of fights and assaults, but in this case my family might be right. The church was closer to our house than the pub so we had no reason to drive by.
How about you guys? Do you have very real seeming memories of things that probably did not happen?
