Never had that happen. Purchases a few times a year of $15k or a bit more. Any more than that, and I use a bank draft and accept that the receiver will want time to ensure it is real. There are numbers they can call on the spot to verify, so I haven’t had an issue there either. The only time your card issuer may have an issue and require a call is when you have stepped out of your purchasing pattern or your sphere of normal retailers.

I'm sure there's no problem if you make a $3,000 purchase everyday. Of course the fraud department has better things to do than chat with you everyday.

They won’t bother you if you establish a pattern of particular retailer types, ie sporting goods, electronics or even travel

This morning, I took my wife to a Chinese Medicine Shop and she picked out $2900 of capsules that she will send to her family back in China. When checkout time came, I put it on my credit card because I didnt have the cash on me to pay for it all. I dont carry more than $400 - $700 at any one time, and I prefer to carry no more than $200 on me, just incase I lose my wallet.

I laughed because once again I thought about the single guys on Massageplanet who complain about door fees being $40 versus $30 for a HH appt.
Next time you single guys think $40 is too expensive, think again and see the bigger picture. Think about the cost of being married and then realize $40 is a bargain.
