for whatever is worth, I do remenber one time they tried to fuck w me at la linea late at night. they asked me what my bussiness was in mex. I answered in spanish with a firm tone that I had been at one of the zona rio dance clubs. All of a sudden this guys supervisor comes out of nowhere and said "let him go".

If you are not familiar with TJ (ie first timer or traveling alone) then it is best to leave town for the border before dark. If you have a few trips under your belt, then this doesn't apply. But the earlier you leave the better. Listen to your gut. And stay sober.

PS- I used to be a doubting Thomas about police harassment in TJ. I'd been there at least 100 times over a 10+ year period with no bad encounters. Then police harassment happened to me. Twice in about 3 months. Plus, I have been reading news reports about some bad shit going down- even in tourist areas. I don't think bullets are flying everywhere in TJ. But, it only takes one stray bullet to ruin your day.

You should be safe at any hour. Don't let the police handle your money and they cannot rob you. If they need to search you, just put your money in one hand and let them search.....I get searched at least 10 times a year and never lost a quarter in a search.....some times when I put my money in my hand they just let me go without searching.

been to the n zone a couple times last fall sept oct no problems with locals or the girls, got robbed by their local cops one night getting let out of cab at the border drop off. due to my time frame this time. might not get to zone till 12 or 1 at night. question, what would be a good time to get out with the regular crowd. meaning i dont want be last one out. some worrys about sefety. also how early can i come back next day and find good selection of SG or in the clubs maybe the hong kong. thanks to all
