Topless Laws in Canada

What do you think about women being able to bare their breasts anywhere in public the same as men do. Why not? Should all the provinces allow this? We already have three provinces that do so.

I think it's irrelevent. Unless you're up north, in your own yard or at a nude beach you don't see women topless even 'tho it's legal here. I said at the time they made it legal that it would never catch on here. It works in other places because generations of people have grown up with it being acceptable.
How many women (other than in front of strip clubs maybe) have you seen topless in Toronto since 1996?

Ontario Court of Appeal ruled bare tits are okay anywhere in Ontario, subject to dress code rules on private property. So topless is fine in ON.

It depends. If they are pretty women that do that then its ok. If hairy breasted women do that, you will see more people throwing up and then we need to spend more money on cleaning up, more government spending, hence, larger deficit.

This was one of those legal battles that wasted the taxpayer's money for absolutely no gain in any way shape or form. Sure, it gave women the legal "right", but in 15 yrs I haven't seen one person exercise that right.

Kind of like me making the province spend millions of dollars so men could have the right to perform oral sex on bears.....like we're going to run out and do that?

I've seen a handful of topless women in public, usually at a demonstration or event like the monthly Critical Mass but never in an everyday situation.
We'd have more but there are too many guys who would be leering and get them uncomfortable.

There were alot of other factors that came into the gwen jacobs case about application of the law etc. that made it about more than just her being topless...I believe her original charge involved a moral terpitude issue...never mind no need to start into this...

I can say I know one handsome scottish lad who was at one of the marches ( I think he was security)in an ocean of bare breasts...every size shape imaginable...and 2 things struck him
1.) when surrounded by this many breasts, the novelty wares off really fast
2.) what the hell are all the guys showing up with cam corders for...(there were tons of them) god get a life...go to the titty bar....buy a playboy or atleast steal your wifes cosmo! geez

IN a nut shell.....its a right like many others not one that is likely to be exercised very often, but people should feel free to say sun bathe topless in a private place without worrying about a jail term. imho
