hey guys hows it all going im planning to go to patong for new years for a month holiday!

im just wanting some info on new years in patong ,whats it like dose it go off!


any info would be great thanks guys!

also is it worth going to pattya for a look?? iv got 1 month that should be heaps of time to travel eh??

Hey Sazza...I was in Patong for New Year's 2009 and it certainly went off. Bang La Road was standing room only in some parts, and there was lots of noise and festivities. People were setting off firecrackers in rolls of 100,000 quite frequently and the atmosphere was great. I had so much fun that I forgot to find me a lady that night!! I'll be looking to head over for NY2010 for sure...

I doubt very much that you will be disappointed with new year in Patong.
My best memory of NYE 2009 beachside, was seeing so many lanterns in the sky but also some who were really out of it lighting them, then because they were so pi$$ed failing to get them off the ground and nearly setting fire to beachside tents and bars 555............arty: arty: arty:

It totally goes off. So many firecrackers going off in thge soi it looks like a snowfall of shreaded paper covering the ground. I've gone the last 2 years and trying to make it 3 in a row. grab ya a bar girl and go down to the beach where the bigger fireworks go off. Fun times for sure.
