Mingling with Fellow MP Visitors While Waiting

I'm really beginning to enjoy mingling with fellow MP enthusiasts while waiting for my appointment. For example, SRM has a terrific waiting room equipped with HDTV overlooking its parking lot. I ran into an ex-colleague of mine there a while ago, who pretended not to recognize me. I also witnessed "parades" where MPAs show up one by one in an attempt to capture a client. The expression on the face of the client as each one says "Hi", and as he tries to make an agonizing decision, is, to say the least, priceless.

Allure also has a terrific waiting room where you can watch TV and leaf through men's magazines. Plus you can greet each client as they show up and check out what kind of car they are driving. I engaged in a long chat with an elderly gentleman from the States who told me he makes his bimonthly trek from a Buffalo suburb to snuggle with Allure's cyooties. When asked, "is there something similar in the States," he told me, "Sure, there are massage parlors in the States. But you'll be snuggling with someone scary." I smacked my forehead and realized just how lucky I am to be in Toronto. I truly learn something new everyday, even from those least expected.

I truly believe you guys are missing out by heading straight to the shower. Let's engage in some pre-session chats! If you see fellow visitors waiting, don't head to the bathroom and try to hide. Mingle. Introduce yourselves. "Hello, I'm Lester, I work in commercial lending at Canada Trust. I'm here to see Robin. Who are you seeing today?" Go ahead. Chat up your fellow MP enthusiasts and share your knowledge and information about your favorite MPAs and her darkest predilections. You don't need to be no Dave in Phoenix to be friendly and outgoing.

Do it while waiting.

Many years ago I too did my best to keep to myself and get in and out as quickly as possible, park close to but outside the MP. Then I had a WTF moment.

Since then I chat up the guys and the girls. Why? Because WTF. We're all in this together whether you like it or not. Now, if I see some guy I know from the real world and he sees me its not like I'm going to be chatting him up at a dinner party with the wives or anything. But its something we have together. We're members of the club (without the annual dues - only the round fees).

Most guys are happy to break the ice but sometimes you get the guy who wants to turn the chair around and is mad that you are actually speaking and having fun. Bud get over it. If its that bad I'll rent you the hotel room - they are cheap thse days. Now I have never taken or given my telephone number but I like to have fun when I go to a MP. It's supposed to be fun not just a secret obsession.
