Is EBC/Wilmot Safe?

Hey, guys,

I've been out of circulation for a while (no money!) and haven't kept up with what's been going on, but am thinking of getting back to hobbying in a small way.

My favorite places are EBC/Wilmot, but have read some recent posts suggesting LE activity.

So is it safe to go back there for a visit?

I went to IT and Red Bird recently and there was a cop car sitting in the parking lot with the two officers staring at me.

One cop was jotting something down on his notepad and I presume my license plate number was written down just like what was happening to SRM recently.

I have not seen any cop cars sitting in the parking lot, and do not want to see any.

Seriously, have a drive around the area. Almost all the MP's have For Sale or For LEase signs in the window and are closed. A few in the IT plaza are still open but almost every one on EBC are closed.

Those that are stil operating don't have their neon OPEN signs on and will only open the door if they like your look and there are no people sitting in cars elsewhere in the parking lot. I was leaving one of the IT plaza on E. Wilmot the other day and they made me wait 3-4 minutes until there were no more cars with people sitting in them in the parking lot. They admit they are very nervous.

Last time I was at Red Bird a few weeks ago, I noticed the girl was very careful both letting me in and letting me out afterwards. There was a car sitting on the other side of the parking lot when I was there and it had someone in it and the engine running. Could have been undercover, not sure though since it was a Trans Am, not the usual unmarked Crown Vic or Impala.

I was at EBC on Wed night....
Assumption is that one of cars use by LE is a silver color sedan.

EBC is safe, as far as it goes. remember this though:

1. busts tend to be on thursday nights. friday is second worst - weekends and early in the week are safest.

2. patrons do not usually get charged - unless you are with an underage girl or there is something else out of the ordinary to make them want to bust you. they are looking for drugs, illegals, underage girls or girls who have been forced into working.

3. well, the vice cops have to make a number of busts for every so often just for appearances sake - safest time to hobby is in the weeks/month after a big sweep.

Well I was going to check out Tip Top due to the nice reviews lately tonight but as I drove in, LE was sitting parked near IT with the copper looking right at me so I parked in front of the chinese restaurant and went in for some take out - even though I had just ate.

Forget it - too much risk in the EBC area.

LE's blitz will shutdown this area very soon it would appear, maybe the number of incalls will rise exponentially. For rent

Checked out a few of those asian ones recently & didn't stay at any. Really hit & miss. Most of them are older 30-40s below avg looking asians. From what I saw, very rare to find a young, avg looking one.

WHers Paul of IT? Paul what is the usual time when LE visit for both client and mpa? Should we just look straight and walk in if they are in the lot? Lower mileage perhaps but still kinda saying, "its our right and they are licensed"? And we go in?

Just curious. I think I would still walk into a licensed spa anyway. Havent seen LE though.

When I was at Royal last week and ran into the LE...see my earlier thread...I did not see any cars in the parking lot that were easily identifiable as LE cars....unless of course they arrived in a Toyota Corolla or an old Magic Wagon.

One thing to know about undercover Morality LE investigations...

We know nothing.

The intelligence units (of which Morality always falls under) of YRP, TPS, Peel, OPP and RCMP all lease many cars, import and domestic for six month terms. Beleive me, you won't know. They use everything including pick up trucks. One thing is though is they use common cars. So you might see a siolver Accord, a gold Camry, etc, no bright yellow Escalades!

Obvious unmarked detective cars are specifically used to communicate that they are cops. General investigative detective units use these cars.

Real morality and intelligence unit cops do not look like cops.

What do you think, that they take these guys out of the traffic unit for the weekend and send them into a MP with short hair and a moustache?

The simple truth of LE and this hobby is that if you are in it long enough or do something to make you a target, you will have a chance to meet face to face with someone you would never believe is a cop. Despite your trying to figure out who is who...

Oh, and they don't ahve schedules for MP busts either.
