Being quite new to the country,I wasn't quite aware how the claim things are so strict. claimed a few visits from a place I haven't visited. My wife visits naturopath and I have made a few false claims on that name. I have also taken regular massages which were not covered. My claim activated by Aug by I was taking chiropractic session from April 2018. Now that manulife has come back and said there are number of claims which are un verified. How do I go and say that I was an aware of how this works and get away? Huge help needed guys. I am also willing to pay the unverified claims back. Any insights ll be great.

Yeah, more or less. Or any best approach that will probably not make them press charges and imprisonment. Is jail time an usual thing for these frauds? My brain is kinda fried right now, I know I messed it up but trying to see if I can mitigate something

Insurers are taking a very strict approach on these things. They will press fraud charges and sue for civil recovery.

My suggestion is to throw yourself on their mercy and just say you didn’t understand. They won’t forgive but they are more likely to make a deal with you this way than if they investigate and conclude you have ripped them off.

I guess people haven't heard some of the TTC employees scam the insurance company over orthopedic shoe scandals. Those who were caught had to pay back the payouts and fired.

You knowingly and repeatedly made false insurance claims, from which you profited, and now you want clemency and you are looking for complicity and direction from the members of our community to absolve you of your crimes?

in simple English, you are in deep shit and you may have to face criminal charges. The clinics and doctors will be investigated and will probably be black-listed by Manulife if they were knowing participants of your fraud activity. If your extended health is part of your employee benefit package, your HR department will be notified and now you jeopardize your job and your family, not to mention how you will explain to your wife that you only got a massage not a hand job at the massage place.

If they are unverified because the provider bascially said you NEVER to see them, then your kind of fucked.

If they are unverified because the place you claimed is not approved/it's not a certified place then you can probably say you didn't know and said ok fine.

Either way your name is probably on their shit list for ever. You'll be lucky if they don't talk to your wife.

I did write to them back saying I wasnt clear in the insurance claims, they had said that restitution can be made at my own discretion currently, so they had asked to re-pay the money, but looks like they will contact my plan sponsor.. I opted to pay them back pro-actively just to make sure if anything can be controlled.

Any of your contacts has faced anything like this before? If there are ny criminal charges what could be those? I am feeling so stupid that I should have asked someone before using that up, as I thought as 3000 $ were in my eligibility, i can use them. Any little detail or suggestion will be great!
