Dating newbie needs help!(read all!)?

2 questions:
1: When you get a date with a girl/guy, is it automatic that you're date is your gf/bf? Or do you still have to ask "will you be my gf/bf?"? And if you have to ask "will you be my gf/bf" when does one usually do it? after a few dates?

2: What are the steps a guy should take to become the boyfriend of a girl? Is it something like Talk to her-Flirt-Ask her out on a date-Ask her to become his GF?

For 1, No, I have to get to know the person first but I do wonder what it would be like if I did spend my life this that person! I would spend a few months with the person before I ask him if he wants us to be more!

For 2, if he wants to be in a relationship, trust me he will LET YOU KNOW!!

Well, someones nervous. No, your not automatically dating. He might be just testing his waters. When you ask him or he asks you is when it becomes official. Usually, the ask-er asks when they are alone or after they go on a date or 2. Whenever you feel like you are ready is when you should be his girlfriend of her boyfriend. But don't think like: YA I'm ready of course I am. NO that is wrong. You need to think this through. Is he or she good enough for you? Do you think that they are equal to you?
