the suspect shot the cops with taser. The cops simply returned fire. In police training, they were told to shoot the suspect in the chest.

I know some people are going to say the suspect is unarmed aside from the taser. When you put yourself in that situation, do you just let the suspect run away or try to contain him?

It's always easy to make the right decision after the fact and I agree with Useful that maybe one shot was sufficient but from the cop's perspective, you have a drunk, violent and possibly high guy that's aiming "something" at you.

At the very least, it's not black and white and there should have been a proper investigation before he was fired. The mayor is a coward. Cops in the US are starting to quit now due to lack of support.

Regardless of race or religion, who cares if one criminal gets killed? One less scumbag in society to worry about. Maybe society should focus on gangs shooting each other up with innocents dying in the cross fire rather than police officers doing their job. And while we are at it, can we please pay someone to kill Marco Muzzo in prison for killing 4 innocent lives and only really serving 4 years before parole. Another joke in our legal system. But all cops are bad right?

I'm sure they checked his criminal background and he wasn't a violent offender.
Running and shooting a taser shouldn't justify someone being killed.
If he's not a violent offender and a danger to the community you shouldn't be using deadly force period.

Even if he didn't have previous convictions as a violent offender that clearly didn't make things any less violent for the police... all they try to do is arrest the guy for driving so drunk he's passed out in the Wendy's drive through lane, and he fights them off, punches one of them, wrestles a taser away and tries to shoot them with it.

I agree none of that justifies killing someone, but it's easy to second guess after the fact when you're not in the heat of the moment. It's a tough job being a cop. Who is supposed to deal with situations like that if you abolish the police?

for one, like less than a handful of people broke into the wendys not a mass amount of people. the vast majority of people were protesting peacefully. Also it was a mix of white people and black people but if you mean both white people and black people cry that the community is scared of them and treated unfairly then OK I guess.

pepper sprays do not work on people who are drunk. Even if it works, the suspect is too far away.

We certainly don't want criminals roaming around the streets but they have same rights as others.

I am with you too. The police seem very reasonable and doing their job. The only thing I don't quite understand is , they have already searched him and no weapons on him other than the taser, I do know the guy was wrong not to cooperate with the police, but why the need to kill? Why not just warning shots? I know he shot him in the heated moment, but aren't they well trained how to handle this kind of situation? How about the Toronto cop who handle the incel van guy on Yonge street? The US is all fucked up.
