I just added a page of policies to my website, did some searches and found some good ideas for policies I hadn't even thought of having! Anyway, now that I've added them I wonder if you wouldn't mind taking a look and let me know if any of them sound "off" or if you have any suggestions for additions or changes.The link is http://thebarefootdragonfly.com/policies.htmAlso, should I send out a letter to all of my clients, past and present, about my new policies? I've never had more than the 24-hour cancellation policy and at that it was just posted in the clinic.TIA!

Just checked out your website, it's great! I think it would be worth a trip back east just to have a wonderful foot and hand session with you!

In my opinion your policies section is flawless and professional. The wording shows respect for your clients as well as yourself.

Nice. May I just add one comment?"Your personal health history and SOAP notes are kept confidentially in your file. "Maybe you could say "session notes" or something. My thought behind that is that many clients, especially those new to bodywork may not know what SOAP notes are.Otherwise sounds great. Very concise and clear.Looks like a great location!

It sounds great!  I agree with Palpable about changing the wording where you mention SOAP notes and maybe put it in layman terms. Other than that sounds great and if you have this posted in your office for clients to see then I don't see any reason for you to send a copy out to your older clients (for lack of a better term) You did good!! ;DTrish

Great site, Dragonflies (love the name too, by the way) One thing that caught my eye that seems like it might be worth some thought (maybe you've already given it some thought?):"Depending on the schedule, tardiness may result in a shorter session than originally scheduled"I wonder if that doesn't open the door for someone who shows up 10 minutes late to argue that they should get the full treatment because someone else might?I wonder if it isn't better to say something about sessions scheduled by the hour/ half hour/ whatever, and sessions must end on time to make room for the next client....then you have discretion to let a session run late by your choosing...?

I think you did a great job.  The one thing that I keep going back and reading is that it is almost too personal... I think there is too many statements with "I".  Even though you are marketing yourself and only yourself... such as  "I work by appointment only, I can be reached at: 617-794-4755. I am unable to answer your call during a session, please leave your name and at least one return phone number."changed to... "Sessions are by apointment only by calling 617... If a session is in progress, the phone will not be answered.  Please leave a return phone number and a time of day you wish to be contacted." (I would also add that to your VM).

Your Health and History pdf askes if the client is married, single, etc. Just curious why you need to know that? Also, you might want to add a line drawing of the body for the client to circle their problem area(s).
