Disposing of them, giving them away, getting rid of them, the end result is the same thing.......

SHe's not getting rid of the cats for health reasons. She isn't getting rid of the cats because the apartment doesn't allow pets. She is getting rid (gotten rid of?) them because she doesn't want to care for them, as well as for 2 more animals or they "won't get along" all over some misguided sense of peril. BTW: there are literally THOUSANDS of videos online showing dogs and cats living together just fine...in fact, MORE than fine actually.......

Sorry, there is NO difference between living in a first floor apartment and living in a bungalow. Ok, there's a 12" difference in window height.....get a bazooka, no wait, get an UZI, no wait, get a mini gun!!!!!

Good home or not, disrupting a animal's life by simply moving is bad enough. Now put them (together or apart) into a new "pack" environment is wrong......if they didn't both go to the same home? That's pretty bad......

Funny though, women all over the world live in first floor apartments and have gotten along fine for decades without the need for a gun or a guard dog.........

Some people dispose of cats by tying them inside a pillowcase and throwing them in the river. I suspect those particular cats would disagree that it's the same end result as finding them a new home.

What does a bungalow have to do with it? I haven't been living in a bungalow, I've been living on the third floor. The spouting of unrelated facts doesn't really bolster your point.

As for the rest of it....I have already addressed this, but will do so one more time. This time I'll type it reeeeally slowly, so maybe you will understand...

Yes, I'm heading south of the Mason-Dixon line...hoping my snarky remark about the snow boots didn't curse the whole region for this winter.

Then again, down there everything closes if there's more than a couple of inches, so I guess either way I can get by without the boots. Although I will need to walk the dog occasionally when I take a break from beating him, maybe I should have kept them...damn it is not nice to make a girl start questioning her packing four hours before the movers get here. :shock:

Are you kidding? Snow boots! You need a windbreaker jacket and maybe a light sweater for the entire Winter. For crying out loud, if I was visiting NC in the Winter, I'd be swimming in January-April! Snow boots geez!

blech, grits are disgusting. I try not to eat anything that looks like someone ate it already.

The move hasn't exactly gone smoothly, but things are working out. My stuff got here yesterday, and I'm looking at the boxes and at my closets and wondering if I'll need to rent storage space. Today and tomorrow are for unpacking, dog comes home on Friday so of course I'll be busy abusing him all weekend.

I'm loving being near my family and was a total baby-hog at dinner the other night. I introduced my 3yo nephew to the joys of popping bubblewrap, and sent a box of it home with him. hehehehehe....oh, the things you can get away with when you're Auntie. :tongue:

LOL, a soggy bottom would definitely disqualify a guy. And I think I'm done with the fb thing anyway....it was fun, but I don't want it as a lifestyle.

 

[Nostalgic for Disaster]

I had been thinking of naming the dog Harley, cuz in his pic he looks like if he were a person, he'd definitely ride one. But he came home yesterday and after spending the day with him I realized that if you wipe that smile off his face, he looks like an old boxer who can still kick ass...his name is Rocky, it suits him perfectly. Middle name should be Marciano, but might end up being Raccoon.

He's settling in really well, although I think he misses his foster family. I don't think he's used to having his own beds, I hope he will start using them more, it's better for his hips than laying on the floor. He loves walks and being brushed, and he's very good at his job without being stupid about it. I did see a bit more dog-aggression on the leash than I was expecting, but he responds well to verbal correction and seems quite trainable so I don't think it will be a long-term issue. I'm doing pretty well remembering to go through all doors before he does, it's so important with a new dog. He understands Sit, Down, Let's Go, No, Walk, Ride...we're working on Bed and Paw. I think I've decided not to let him sleep in my bed, although that is probably subject to change.
The McD's near me sells sweet tea by the gallon. I really should have moved down here years ago! :great:

Don't worry . It took me awhile to learn Bed and Paw. I was allowed to sleep in the bed most nights though.
