NHL Hockey starts tonight

The Leafs will win the Stanley cup in the next 4 years - Auston Matthews is an amazing talent. Best young player, by far, in the league right now. Better than Connor McDavid. McDavid is a play maker, Matthews is a scorer. Imagine those two guys playing on the same team?

I plan to go to NHL games this year - 1st time in a long, long time. Hopefully, I can make it to 5 or 6 games.

The only thing that will get in my way will be my addiction to Asian Angela. Sometimes I will be forced to choose between the Leafs and Angela. And I know where my heart is at in this regard. Nothing takes precedent over that sexy little spinner Asian at Kennedy at Sheppard. She would look great in a Leafs home jersey. I think I will buy her one this year.

It's just too bad these great young players can't showcase their talent at the upcoming Olympics. But I like the Leafs chances to win it all this year as long as they stay healthy.

Just watched McDavid's hat-trick highlight real. Holy Shit.

Watch the 2nd goal McDavid scores - He outskated the defenders, even though he had the puck and he also had to take a longer route to the net than they did. If a guy can carry the puck and take a longer distance to the net than defenders, but he still beats them, that is one talented player. If he can develop Gretzky like skills in taking a puck off his skates, he could eventually score 60 goals a year, or more.

I love watching NHL in person, but I can't give up my addiction to Angela TK.

Sometimes I wonder if I should spend my money on a hockey game or a massage. It's a hard decision, but I try to alternate between the two. One very big difference is the traffic is much lighter when I leave the spa, as opposed to leaving a Leafs game.

I'm actually planning to go to 2 or 3 Leafs games this season. I haven't been in 5+ years and I'm a huge hockey fan. I'm also going to check out a Sabre game or two as I bought a mini pack. Great seats for 1/3 of the cost of a Leafs game.

Ursus I agree this team has come so far along so fast (and impeccably managed) I'd be shocked if we don't have a Cup by 2020.

I would love to go to a Sabres game to watch Jack Eichel play. But crossing the border on my own always gets me sent to secondary screening. And I hate secondary screening. They ask you bullshit questions, such as:

My answer: My wife and I travel sometimes, and because I don't collect welfare for a living, it is important for me not to impregnate my wife and expect the government to pay for the costs of doing so. A condom is necessary to prevent pregnancy during sex. Also, because partners regularly cheat on each other, I don't want to end up like Magic Johnson and contract HIV, from anyone, even my wife. As you know, everyone is capable of wrongdoing and I care too much about my future to take chances, regardless of who it is I am intimate with.

You should see the look on the faces of the border guards when you answer their questions in such a manner. They realize quickly, they aren't going to fuck around with me.

Btw, Auston Matthews and Mitch Marner are so talented, it is amazing to watch. I think Auston can score 60 goals and I think Marner can be an 80 point per season guy, year in and year out. If they could get some good goaltending and add 1 Larry Robinson type defenceman, we would have a cup for sure.

Auston Matthews just scored the OT winner against Chicago - leafs win 4 to 3 in OT tonight.

They are 3 - 0.

They beat the Blackhawks, coming back from 2 goals down in the 3rd period. They outshot Chicago, won 60% of the face-offs and outshot Chicago during the game. Chicago curshed Pittsburgh the other night, so this Leafs win is a good sign. Toronto is a really, really good team this year.

Why should we have to wait till 2020 to do it? Let's surprise everybody and do it this year, when all the other teams don't expect it. We waited long enough. Besides, by 2020 all the greats will need to get raises and we won't be able to keep all of them because of the salary cap. Look what happened to the Black Hawks.

The Leafs got spanked against the Devils Wednesday night. Will they recover against the Canadiens Saturday night?

Leafs haven't beat the Habs in forever. I think that changes tonight. Prediction 5-3 for the Buds.

Habs have beaten the leafs 14 straight times but I highly doubt that gets extended tonight given the Habs have scoring depth issues. Galchenyuk and Plekanec have the flu and are doubtful for tonight's game.

Auston Matthews, if he plays, gives the leafs a chance to win every night. The guy is the awesome. I was woried about his shot going into the NHL draft, but looks like he has a NHL caliber trigger.

He will score 60 goals in a season very soon.

Auston Matthews scores OT game winner, plus scored another goal ealier in the game. The man is a Beast.

Best young talent to com along since Sidney Crosby. And we have him in Toronto - finally, our luck has changed.

Leafs win 4 -3 and are now 4 - 1 overall.

He has 5 goals in 5 games and he only averages 17 minutes of ice time per game.

Takes the pass out of the air, controls it instantly and then snaps it, up top, past Price. Fucking awesome. He understands the importance of a quick release. Bret Hull scored 700+ goals because he too understood to shoot the puck quickly. It doesn't have to be power, but it does have to be quick.

Thanks for the video. That was awesome. You don't see goals being scored like that very often, the way he received the puck in mid air and scores while the puck is still wobbling.
