I love my mission statement and I was wondering what everyone else came up with...Also, feel free to critique mine if you see something you like/dislike. There's always room for improvement.   Homeostasis: A state of balance and well-being.My journey in life is continually moving toward a state of homeostasis. It is my wish, that you join me on a healing and nurturing journey, moving ever closer to this state of emotional, physical and spiritual balance.I will provide a comforting and safe space where those who chose to join me will be empowered to make healthful decisions for themselves.I will educate those seeking knowledge...I will nurture those seeking comfort...I will empower those seeking strength...I have this on the inside fold of my brochure and plan to have it printed and framed when I move into my space. Okay, now you...   :-*

Here's mine:My Mission: To expertly combine Classic Swedish Massage, Ashiatsu Oriental Bar Therapy and the ancient practice of Reiki, inspiring the body to accelerate self-healing. To encourage my clients to increase their body awareness and take responsibility for their well being.To offer a new path to physical wholeness, integrating the best of Eastern and Western modalities. ***Graci, this is just my opinion, but I would consider making your mission statement less "I" based. The sentiment is lovely, but I think it could be worded just a bit differently. Also, I'm not sure about the second occurrence of the word "empower". It  implies you are doing all the work for them. Consider "fortify" as an alternative. Just my thoughts...

Thank you for the suggestions - I have stuggled with the word empower, but just hadn't taken the time to figure out a better word. I did a thesaurus check on fortity(which is a great word ). What do you think about:  Encourage / Reinforce / support

Also, maybe change "I will provide..."  to: "you will be provided with a safe space where you will be encouraged to make healfull decisions for yourself." Takes the focus of me and puts it on the client.

Also, change "I will" and replace with (quite simply) "To"

"To educate those... To nurture those...etc.

I already have the current version in my brochure, but I will print an updated version for my new space...Which I just found out will be available for me Dec. 1st - Yeeaaa ;D

It turned out to be a good thing that I posted this. The changes that I made to the mission statement prompted me to edit my brochure. And in doing so I found that I had the  phone # wrong!!!     And, not only wrong in the brcochure but on business cards & gift certs as well.!!

The good news is that I've been doing the printing at home from my own computer so I could make the edits myself and didn't lose out on too much. But, oh my...What a pain!

Dec. 1st is my move in date and open house 7th & 8th.   ;D

Jen,Sorry that I didn't respond earlier - I haven't been checking in as much as I used to In the time since I posted this, I've made many, many, many...changes to my printed materials. So, I now have a modification of the original statement in my brochure. I am thinking of printing the full statement out on nice paper to frame for my space.DoLLz...Thanks for asking about the space. Let's just say, it's been a challenge. I FINALLY took the space in Feb. and it's been an uphill battle all the way. But I guess this isn't the place for those details. Maybe I'll tell all in another thread...another time...But, thanks! :-* :-*
