When one of your parents or grandparents is Mexican citizen, things move faster.

Legally, you can own a .22, .25 or a .32, any higher caliber guns are "for the exclusive use of the armed forces" therfore illegal, not that Mexican gun owners care much for that stupid law but it wouldn't be wise for a forgiener to shoot an intruder with 9mm or bigger

That is a long time, could kick the bucket by then...never know, plan to use parents birth certificate to get things rolling one of these days. Visit tj a lot but never looked deep into it. Once I sell my place in the US, it will be time to look for a nice place to settle down in Mexico or another country(Costa Rica).
It may take close to a year to figure out exactly where to live, probably too many places to chose from mountains, ocean or valleys.
Are you allowed to keep firearms in the house for personal protection?

It takes a good 8 to 10 years for a forgiener to gain Mexican citizenship but you don't need to be a citizen to own property in Mexico, there are over a million American and Canadian homeowners in Mexico only a small perceneforum.xxxe of them have Mexican citizenship.

Geography was off "Oaxaca", yes not even close. Thought about buying south close to the gulf straight down from Mexicali not too close due to rising ocean levels, no Katrina II. First need to get a dual citizenship to buy legally not lease. Heard that it takes about a year if all goes as planned and do not know how much it cost either. Thanks.

Mexicali is in the northwest corner of Mexico, Puerto Escondido is in the Southeast, a couple thousand miles away. Think Boston/San Diego or Seattle/Miami

Rent is so much cheaper in TJ, $300 will get you a decent place, $500 will get you a nice place, for $800/month, you can rent an ocean front home, 100% furnished in a nice, private gated community.

You need discipline. You could sit in the casino and watch the games (maybe make a small wager) eat some nice cheap tacos then head over for a drink at Adelitas or Hong Kong and then back to casino to catch the next game or home to watch it. Maybe for those who live in TJ, could find a girlfriend. I'm sure if you frequent the markets or restaurants in the area would be a good place to find someone.

I used to fantasize about living in tj years ago. But as I thought about it more and more, I realized that with all the $ I'd spend on housing, hoes, ointments for the blisters in my dick, etc....there wouldn't be much in the way of tangible achievements in my life. It is something that must be analyzed very carefully!!!!!! Just today for example- I worked a half day, went to see the white sox kick ass in their season opener, got a great meal afterward and returned to my nice big home in suburban chicago in time to enjoy watching the cubs get their ass kicked! Not as pleasurable as bathing in pussy down in la zona, but is something i CAN do repeatedly thanks to the fact I did not move down there!

I would agree, the only way it would be feasible to live in TJ and work in SD would be if you can cross the border and catch the trolley. I wouldn't even
mess with a car. I believe in time you would get sick of living in TJ and decide
SD is a way better option regardless of cost.

Doing a bit research on your own will yield much results. This topic has been covered in great detail.

It is much, much cheaper to live in TJ. But if you are working in SD, the daily commute can be a real grind. If you work downtown SD or anywhere close to the trolley, then the commute is not a big deal. If you have to drive across the border each day, then may God help you, Sir! The border crossing can range from 1/2 to 3 1/2 hours, without any ability to regularly anticipate when the best or worst times are. You will want to get a SENTRI pass but even that is not a guarantee of a quick crossing. Crossing as a pedestrian is usually very easy. (Note I said, "usually." The line can explode into a 1 1/2 hour wait without notice.) Again, a pedestrian SENTRI pass will reduce that time drastically.

Housing has come way down in San Diego but it is still very high. Even though San Diego is a large city, wages are not high. You are paid in Sunshine Dollars. Luckily for TJ mongers, National City, Chula Vista, and San Ysidro are three of the most reasonably-priced housing areas in San Diego and they are very close to the border. When you stumble across the border by foot, you are in San Ysidro.
