^^...so why not stay in Patong and hire a scooter to head out to the beaches in the afternoon when you are sober.....best of both worlds....also try the beaches on the north side....Kamala, Laem Seng + Surin....Kamala is a nice long sparsely populated family beach, Laem Seng a hidden gem and Surin is one of the best main stream beaches on the island

Nightlife in Phuket is very amazing...Especially for the young ones....You can see many girls and boys enjoying the time in a bar or pub....Also every bar/pub have many bar girls to entertain you with their lusty movements....You canpick the one you like and also have a fun time with her in a private section...

stopped off at the bar area kata centre or the northern part last week.
it was really busy.

i was very surprised at the number of farangs around.
there`s been some changes there the old night bazaar bar area where the pool was has been torn down but all the other bars around there had a few punters and BG`s in them.
it`s not a bad bar area there,usually plenty of girls :great:

Karon should be lively enough in November, when I plan to come.

I found the best place last September in Karon to be Soi One Man, just head up from Karon Circle away from the beach and the turn for it is just opposite the Red Onion massageplanete. I found it extremely quiet and ended up spending a lot of Baht on taxis to and from Patong. You'd want to like your beaches to not stay in Patong.

well maybe I can strike a balance ----between Karon and Patong --- does anybody know if c&n resort charges a joiner fee ? I have read in the past that they do not --but want to make sure they have not changed policy - they don't seem to answer e-mails --although I can book online ---reviews I have found seem to be fairly good. ---any input would be appreciated.

In common with the C&N Hotel in Patong, C&N Resort also does not charge a joiner fee. If you are considering staying there, be aware that you will still need a tuk tuk at 200baht each way to Bangla Rd. Its too far to walk it however cool the weather.

I would definitely go with Nelsonones idea of staying close to Bangla and heading out to a different beach when the fancy takes you. So many other good beaches on the island that need looking at to confine yourself to Karon IMO.

You could try

Phuket hotels: resort accommodation at the Golden Sand Inn, Karon Beach

They definitely don't charge a joiner as I've just rung them up and asked.

The location is excellent for both bars and beach.

It's not as good a hotel as the others mentioned, but it's cheaper.

Inn on the Beach say they don't charge a joiner either, have rung them too.

Always best to get confirmation of no joiner in an email when you make a reservation, though.

Head past all the girly bars in kata,and take a left up the new road,and you'll find Solution Bar,crackin' little place with pool table,sports on the tv's etc,and a few stunners!!!
No pressure from the girls,relaxed atmos,and great tunes,totally chilled,not your average slappers bar.

Hi Guys.
I am staying in Karon in a few weeks time, so thanks for the info here. I had a quick look around on map jack & spotted a few massage places in Karon. Would I expect to be offered a happy ending in these establishments?

If you are budgeting up to 4000, might be an idea to consider paying a joiner.

I think most of the better hotels in Karon charge one; if you want decent facilities, pool etc, I think the two I've highlighed above are the only ones who don't charge for a TG.

4000 BHT is my top. If I can get away with paying 2000 I'll go for it.
