I would check with them, and ask what they wish their ICs to do before you invest in your cards. I have in my contract that all ICs put "located at Gilbert Bodyworks, etc, etc" on all biz cards & brochures that they wish displayed at our shop. As far as their own designs, etc, I love having all the beautiful, creative cards on display. Once upon a time (twice actually) I worked at places that required us all to use the same design & format so all the cards matched. We had to pay for our own cards. Nobody thought ill of it. They were very beautiful designs that reflected the salon, etc. No problem. ICs will probably always have to pay for their own supplies. I don't know many establishment owners that will provide supplies or marketing materials to ICs. Employees, yes, but ICs no. Remember, its all tax deductible though. good luck at your new gig!
