Festival Chair!

So I'm doing a big big street fair this Sunday. They're expecting up to 35,000 people to go through (I think this is an exaggeration, but there will certainly be at least 15,000). I've got my booth space, I've tried out the EZ-Up to make sure it works, I'm stocked up on water and GCs and disposable facecradle covers. Oh plus super-short intake forms, a drawing, a few products to sell, etc.

I just need the last-minute reminders. If you've done fairs before (of any size), or if you think it would be fun, what do you suggest I remember to take? I have a list as long as my arm, but I'd rather add to it than wish I'd brought something.

Envision if you will: I have 10'x10' of space, enclosed on 2 or 3 sides by plain white full sidewalls. (I'll decide how many to put up when we get there -- I'm on the end of a row so I don't know how traffic will flow, plus I'm near some pony rides so I don't know if it will be smelly!) I don't have electricity to the booth, although I will take the stereo and just use batteries.

Keep your fingers crossed for a boat of money and a big new mailing list!

PS Any tips about handling the EZ-Up appreciated -- it seems pretty straightforward but I don't want to miss something. It's actually a Caravan Canopy brand, if anyone has experience w/those.

When I have done fairs like this I have used the drawing entries for newsletters, mailings ect. Don't forget plenty of pens/pencils for the entries. I had special pads made up for the drawings without dates on them so that I could use them at any future fairs. I also made them a bright color so that they would be noticed.

When posting your drawing, get a picture easel, the plastic clear kind to hold your sign. Don't forget the tip jar and plenty of business cards! Will you have a table to put things on or will it be supplied? Bring one just in case, even if its a small tv tray that looks nice. I'll add more if I can think of any later. Good luck!!!!

And a trash bag/can.....I hate it when I forget to have something along for tossing outt my wipes & face cradle covers!!!

I use a timer rather than a clock, because by the end of the dayI don't necessarily remember what time I started, or how much time they want. :roll: I need that countdown!!

I thought I'd pitch in with a $-saving tip... home-made sanitizer! (Yes, for real LOL)

Get a spray bottle, preferably with an adjustable nozzle (you know, Windex-size). Fill it with distilled or reverse osmosis (NOT tap! And not bottled water unless it specifically says distilled or RO). Get a bottle of Grapefruit Seed Extract (available in health food stores, typically available in 2 sizes, has a white bottle with a red cap and red lettering last time I bought it) and pour about 40 drops into the bottle. (This is your disinfectant. Kills everything and is not harmful to you, your clients, or any pets, if applicable. My doctor told me it's better than anything the hospitals use.) Add a few drops of essential oil if you want, to add a good smell. (The Grapefruit Seed Extract does not have a scent.) There ya go. Keeps forever, doesn't do any harm, no animals were tested on, and for a small fixed-cost, you saved a small bundle

PS: I still have the spray bottle I made in 2004, and it's just fine. I just spray my massage table and chair down between every client. Dries fast, no residue, no chemicals. Hope that helps!
