I dont know what the news sais in Bulgaria, but in Scandinavia the violence, several rapes and corrupt police in Sunny Beach are all over the news, particulary during holiday time.

I don't know if it's dangerous for all foreigners, the guys who been killed was originally from Iraq and others beaten has had african origin.
Bulgaria seem to be racist, so stay sober, be white and try to learn some Bulgarian or Russian and I think you'll be fine.

Yet another sad entry in the list of Bulgarian mafia brothels where clients are no more than dead meat. In the very centre of the "Sunny Beach" resort lies the infamous "Go-Go Girls Place Pigalle" strip club, where a couple of Swedes were poisoned/sedated by the staff and stripped of all their possessions. Do not go there - if you value your life.

The "Fetish" club in Sofia poison/sedate their guests and steal all their money. You can expect the same in both the "Taboo" and "Playboy" clubs, since they belong to the same mafia group.

Do not under any circumstances risk going there. Most of the taxi drivers work for these clubs and will take you there, whatever your wish was. And you can't complain to the police after you've been robbed, because they work for them too.
