Funny story:

Asian Angela lied to me and tried to Con me into getting Kobe Bryant Laker's tickets for her when Bryant was retiring and about to play his last game. Any death is tragic and sad but as a Celtics supporter, he really didn't "touch" my life as a fan the way he did the lives of die-hard Lakers fans so I don't really take this as hard as they do. I am thankful I lived through the revival of the Celtics/Lakers rivalry in 2008 and 2010. Condolences to the friends and families of all 9 people in that helicopter crash.

Well it did start a period of bad luck for the franchise. Oh and don't forget Reggie Lewis who was drafted the year after although with less fanfare than Len Bias. He was the future cornerstone of the franchise and provided a much needed boost to the Celtics team that was still reeling from the death of Bias. Had Lewis not died, I don't think it would have taken the Celtics as long as they did to win their 17th title. Since jumping ship after every contract year wasn't as common as it is now, sometimes I just wonder what could've been if Lewis lived long enough to play alongside Paul Pierce and Antoine Walker. He could've played back-up to Pierce and taught Walker to play with his back to basket like a real Power Forward in the late 90s and not jack up too many threes.
