PICKPOCKETS IN TAIPAN- Gentlemen Beware

The second person I am aware of in 2 weeks was the victim of a pickpocket in Taipan:aao: . It seems to be that the area of attack by the pretty young things is by the right hand side bar where it curves around near the toilets. Gird your loins (and wallets) gentlemen. Carpe Diem

Must admit I do like using a money clip when you are carry large amounts of paper. Doent work for a few notes tho so these days I am not in that standard..

In bali though where 100 usd is more thana million rup I was using it again.. Handfulls of the stuff !!

there is no need for anyone to pick my pocket in taipan, everytime I go in with money in my wallet there aint nothin left by the time I leave..

I don't carry a wallet, either. Haven't since I was about 25 y.o.
I just fold the notes in half and shove them in my pocket. 500 and 1000 notes in one pocket and smaller notes in the other pocket. Never carry a credit card in LOS. In the US, I keep the credit cards in my car and only take one out, when I am planning to use it. Very simple that way. Makes it impossible to lose your wallet!

so u reckon its an inside job,hmmmmmm.........well i dont know 'taipan bob'.i take it he runs the place,but i think its not right to go pointing fingers.
ok youve heard of 2 incidents in 2 weeks,did it ever cross your mind that possibly there is a nasty piece of work operrating in there her/his self FL 555555,and im sure there is plenty of em around.
Also i think its very hard to dertermine who and when the events happen like this,unless caught red handed,ok everyone has there theories,ideas..etc.but in a busy place were id say 90% of people are smashed out there heads,money will get lost ,stolen....

i think ive taking what your implying correct,im not sure its very wise.
but then again if u know thai pan bob and its meant as a joke,the outlook on this post is not good.

Problem without a wallet is the cards.. I have to have a bike licence on me whenever I am out and abaout.. Then helps to have my ATM card.. So then really starts to get easier with a wallet..

Only ever lost a wallet once in my life.. and I had just drawn 5000 Euros for a holiday I was about to take.. The one damn time !!!

Altho I don't usually carry the cards with me, sometimes as you say, you need the DL, the ATM, and perhaps a card with you, as well. Especially in SF, where all the clubs require a show of ID at the door to get in. So, just for such cases, I keep them in a small holder. It is just two thin pieces of leather stitched together, with one piece about the same size as the cards, and one piece a little shorter to make it easy to grasp the top of a card to slide it out.

Since it is only barely more than the size of a credit card, when you put a few cards in it, it is not much more than carrying a single card, and nothing like carrying a wallet. Sometimes, I will also slip a single bill($20 or $100) in there for emergencies, but not for pulling money out to pay for things. Only for in case I left my cash in the pants I wore the day before!

Try it sometime! Doesn't take up much room in your front pocket. It sure beats carrying a wallet. :thumbsup:
