Forming Energy Healer Circles/Meet ups

I would like to start an energy healing circle or meet up group for people in my area.

I've never been to one so I don't know what goes on. I would like to create a group of other energy workers who meet on a regular basis to give and receive energy work, learn from each other, etc.

Any MassagePlanetL members out there part of these types of groups? Could you tell me the structure/format of your meetings? How long are they, how does the giving and receiving of energy take place, is there a discussion/learning period?

Only thing I've been to like that was a reiki circle... each person gets a turn on the table while the rest work on them. Afterward there was some discussion. It was all very simple and informal, but very nice.

I think it would be easiest to stick with one energy technique and reiki is probably the most widely used. But I am really hoping to figure out how to make an energy healing group work and not just one technique group.

I have more training in Pranic Healing than reiki, but more experience with reiki than pranic healing. I'd love to form a group of energy healers of all types but would be unsure of how "everyone gets a turn on the table" would go with the healers doing different techniques at once.

Ideas from anyone would be greatly appreciated.

How much time does the person on the table get? With a few people working at once it seems like less time would be needed.

Informal and simple is definitely what I'm all about.

When I lived in the States I belonged to an energy healing circle that met from time to time. Many different modalities were represented and some people were just there for the experience, with no training or prior knowledge. We worked on people from 15 minutes to a half hour each, whatever felt right. It's good for someone to kind of lead, a different person each time, but everyone (even those with no experience) should participate! It's the very best introduction to energy work.

No worries about the fact that everyone is doing something different. As long as you don't have someone dictating that everyone follow them, trust that it will work out perfectly! It's a chance to learn from eachother.

It was through this circle that I learned of polarity and Bach flower remedies, wonderful complements to the energy work I was doing!

My original reiki master/teacher holds an energy healing circle at her home each month. Reiki is the most represented branch, but there are a few other practitioners, including some whose work has no formal name. It is informal but somewhat structured. Everyone who comes has had some training in energy work.

There is a potluck of light food (it's on a weekday evening) and everyone "checks in" for a couple minutes including requests for work. Then either everyone has a turn while the whole group works on them, OR we split into pairs/trios for work on separate tables, whatever seems to work each time. If there are a lot of people present it's usually pairs. Whole-group stuff is usually only if a group member is going through a particularly difficult time.

Learning from one another during exchange/practice is supported, but if you just want to receive work without teaching that is OK too. Sometimes the group meeting leads to people arranging separate side sessions for learning/teaching.

The lady who organizes the group is an amazing group leader, teacher, and healer; she leads a little opening and closing ritual to raise and ground the energy. It's very gentle, yet very powerful and connecting.

These posts are inspiring. I'd love to be part of a group of mixed energy workers meeting up regularly. And anyone can do some simple polarity, even with no previous training.

To answer a question, yes, people were not on the table very long because nearly every part of their body had hands on at once

What a great thread. I've actually been thinking about doing something like this as well. I've had a few of my clients ask me if I would set something up, but kept putting it off because I really didn't know where to start or how exactly to facilitate one.
How long do these meet ups usually last for? 2 to 3 hours?

Yes! That is to say, about 2-3 hours. I would make it clear that people need to arrive by a certain time, as doors will be closed after that and latecomers will be asked not to intterrupt, ie one will be admitted, but that's just me. It really can disrupt the energy to have someone rush in late and apologetic. Setting that precedent right off the bat gets people to commit to being there and being present!
