A new business opening in Coral Springs is setting out to prove itโs never the wrong time for a therapeutic massage, even if you havenโt been born yet.
Baby Wellness Massage will celebrate the Grand Opening of its Coral Springs store located at 5571 North University Drive on Saturday, January 21, from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m.
The parent-baby massage center says it will offer everything from massage services, education for new and soon-to-be parents, and training to parents and caregivers to help stimulate parent-child bonding and strengthen families.
A resident since 2005, Baby Wellness Massage Founder and store owner Marie Josee Berard tells Coral Springs Talk her background of working as a certified and licensed massage therapist for over 30 years in multiple modalities led to the realization that a business like Baby Wellness Massage was crucial due to how vital the early introduction of comforting touch into a babyโs life is.
โStarting touch early in life promotes a babyโs overall health,โ Berard said.
โNot only that, but it enhances the bond between parent and baby,โ
According to Berard, the Baby Wellness Massage will offer everything from private lessons to group classes. Core services offered are; fertility massages, pre-natal massages, induction massages, postpartum massages, and last but not least, massages for babies themselves.
While the thought of an infant receiving a massage may seem over the top to some, Berard says there are important benefits from the treatment that helps babyโs in various ways.
โBaby massages demonstrate the importance of touch for infants,โ Berard said. โItโs essential for their physical and psychological development.โ
Available on a first-come, first-served basis, the โThe Baby and Meโ massage class series costs $175 for seven sessions or $30 per session if space is available. During an average week, classes are offered on Wednesdays at 9:15 a.m. and Sundays at 9:30 a.m.
Berard says the 7-week โThe Baby and Meโ series benefits both the Mom and baby alike.
โEducational hands-on classes help strengthens the parent-baby connection, help both the baby and the parent relax and sleep better, and also ease discomfort and pain that the baby may feel after birth,โ Berard said.
โBaby massage also helps strengthen the immune system and prevent illnesses and physical issues.โ
Currently, most classes are for babies ages two months to pre-crawling. Baby Wellness also offers telehealth sessions at $45 for 15 minutes, $90 for 45 minutes, and $250 for three 45-minute sessions.
