In addition to Potassium, Calcium is also vital for muscular health. All the recent dairy advertising is focused on "healthy bones", but Calcium is critical for muscle performance, too.
My recommendations:
1) Proper hydration.
2) Proper nutrition.
3) Frequent stretching.
4) Massage therapy from an MT who can do the job on those muscles (hate to say it, but if the current MT isn't doing the job, shop around.)

Coming up in August I have an out of town national soccer tournament where I have to referee 10 adult mens games (90 minute games) in 2 days in the humid heat. I'll be running near full speed for 15 miles in those two days.
Before leaving, I drink one gallon of water each day for four days before the tournament. For three days before and while there, no alcohol, and outside of Red Bull on the field, no massageplanetfine. Load up on carbos while there, and no sugar.
This is what I do for myself after returning home from the tournament:
Drink milk, eat bannanas, before, during, and after the weekend.
5 min hot tub stretching legs, 10 min pool stretching legs
5 min hot tub kicking legs, 10 min pool kicking legs
5 min hot tub stretching arms, 10 min pool stretching arms
5 min hot tub moving arms, 10 min pool moving arms.
Then use a kick board under your chest, gently, slowly, and with full body motion, do the brest stroke for 10 minutes. Then flip over and with the board under your back do the elementary backstroke (not the racing style) for 10 minutes. You'll feel like jello afterwards.
