This is a case about freedom of expression. But it is also about the limits to that constitutionally protected right. Expressions of hatred and bigotry towards racial, ethnic, religious, or other identifiable groups have no value in the public discourse of our nation.
True. But inevitably some thin-skinned individual takes it too far. For instance, on many forums it is a ban-worthy offense to say there are only two genders. On others, it is ban-worthy to make a joke that can merely be construed as sexist, racist, etc., even if that was obviously not the poster's intent.
I have no problem with banning obvious hate speech, but not if it inevitably leads to drastic censorship.
