Chat 'Breaking up' with a fave is hard to do...

As we got closer, she started to ask questions about our "relationship". As much as I liked her, I knew a BF/GF relationship was not in the cards so I answered as honestly as I could. Little did I know, she was actually testing me. Well, I failed the test and it opened the door to another guy. I have known about him for a long time and knew she had feelings for him too but it never really bothered me before. For whatever reason, it bothers me now. We got in a fight and long story short, I told her I would not see her again. She still cares for me a lot and doesn't want us to "break up" but there's too much emotions going on now.

For anyone thinking of getting really close to an MPA, just think long and hard about it first. The rewards are great, I can't deny that. But there will always be someone that comes along that's more charming, better looking, more successful, more devoted...you get the idea. If you are the jealous type, don't even bother.

We don't normally see MPAs with the intent of building a "relationship" but sometimes it just happens. Not necessarily driven by either person. Visits at the spa start to feel different. Then you start, like you said, to do things together outside the spa.
Again, not really targeting a specific type of relationship, but things develop.
But, along the way you both probably know deep down that there isn't really a future for the relationship.
The practicality of the situation doesn't make it any easier to give up on the feelings that have developed.
Like Hangul said, at some point you realize one of you can't give what the other person wants of needs.

Contrary to BS's BS, not all MPAs are horrible people.
I've met a number of wonderful ladies through this hobby.
Stay in touch with many who are retired.
And all with no regrets.

Although it's tough to move on, you'll be fine.
Another will steal your heart soon enough.
And if that doesn't happen, you'll likely have a lot of fun interviewing new candidates.
