New Coronavirus tracking app called COVID alert is available to download now

Hey guys,

Please download this app and if you get Coronavirus get your one - time key in the app and input it in the system so everyone around you who has the app will be able to be notified if they have been in contact with you. This app will help curb the spread of COVID-19. This is really good for the people that are visiting spas now. You will be notified if a girl has coronavirus or the girls will be aware if a customer has coronavirus. It is available to download on the apple store and on the Android system.

Also, don't worry if you get Coronavirus and input in the system that you got it. It won't tell people who you are so it keeps your privacy intact. It is a Bluetooth tracking app.

I am very reluctant to download their app and let Big Brother know where I am going or have been, especially to the spa. No thank you.

They are not going to know you by name in the system. You are just a code in the system.

I have worked in the wireless telecom industry. If they can ping your smartphone for a location, they will know who you are. Again, I apologize but I prefer to retain my privacy.

It is up to you whether you want to download the app or not but just to let you know your code changes often when you interact with people and no one is able to identify you.

The app doesn't track your location or collect any personal info. The code is open source so anyone can vet it, which many security researchers and privacy advocates have done and signed off.

Sure your phone and carrier can track your location, but an app can't access this info unless you grant it permission, and this app doesn't even request it AFAIK. Do some research before you dismiss it out of hand.

The app does not track location. The API doesn’t rely on location at all.

this only works providing the person who has covid19 carry the cellphone around. Instead of notify people, the government should use it to track the movement of covid19 patients. If they are caught leaving home, the poice should go and arrest those bastards.

Did you even look into this at all? It logs contacts between app users using Bluetooth proximity. If you test positive you log that in the app, then the app notifies everyone you were near in the previous 2 weeks so they can get tested.

Everyone is supposed to be practicing social distancing.
The only people who can be within 2 metres for over 15 minutes are 10 in your social circle.
If one of them tests positive, of course you will know to get tested.

Service providers are supposed to have contact info.

This app should be mandatory for anyone who tests positive and everyone who enters the country, in order to enforce their quarantine.
That would be useful.
