I was in Scarborough the other day and none of the signs are in English. I would have to learn Chinese and be Chinese in order to get a job in that area. Essentially, the immigrants have pushed out born and raised Canadians from the Scarborough area. Its disgusting.

I am not against Chinese immigrants or Indian immigrants or any other immigrant. But, they should speak English, use English signs and practice our cultural ways if they are to be granted status in Canada. If they want to recreate the land they left, they should stay where they come from and never come here. I dont want to see all the signs in Chinese or all the signs in any other foreign language.

I understand immigrants have no respect for Canadian ways. Its obvious. But at least show respect on November 11th. Without the allied forces, the Japanese would have killed, raped, imprisoned and dominated every Chinese person in China during WW2. Do you think these Chinese immigrants to Canada would be living the lifestyle they currently live if not for the allied soliders that fought for everyone's freedom? Japan would have controlled all of Asia in short order if not for the allied forces. What thanks do we get? Nothing. FUCKING RIDICULOUS.

If Sportsnet didn't like what he was saying, they had plenty of time to stop the broadcast. By not choosing to exercise their right to cut off the broadcast, they actually admit what Mr. Cherry said was ok. It was only later when they received complaints from the Don Cherry haters that they decided to can him. Sportsnet just didn't want to deal with it. Even Ron McLean admitted he didn't argue with Cherry because he didn't think it was wrong either. McLean only apologized about it because he would have lost his job too. So, if you think Cherry was wrong, then you're wrong. Because both Sportsnet and Ron McLean didn't stop Cherry at the time, then they both admit Don Cherry didn't do anything wrong.

Agreed. Some of you guys don't know human history from squat. Lands and boundaries were fought for through wars. Land was not gained by someone just because someone decided to give it away as a gift.

I believe that the staff was in acceptance of what he said. It's truly how a lot of white people feel. But he was offensive in his remarks.

If I call a fat person fat, No matter how truthful it is, they have a right to be offended.

Don not wanting to admit this was his downfall.

I really wish you had a constructive option and not just taking the high ground. This is a complicated issue. History is not on a native side. The didn't believe in land ownership and had battles between tribes for land. Based on their history, we owe them nothing. Although we did "settle" with them. However, we changed our position after the settlement which really is off side.

Anyway, thanks for your feedback. This issue will be with our children's children to resolve.

The old saying goes, history is written by the victors. I don't think the Native signed up to be muscled of their land. But because the victor controls the story, it's whatever they want it to be.

But another saying goes, the sins of the father are visited on the son. Just like how they occupied land belonging to others, it has now come right back and revolved. I just hope you show the same understanding.

There is no workable solution. This is not a Disney movie.

Useful land will not be transferred back and estimates on damages over centuries will not be paid. They are too small of a group and powerless to have any real change.
