You can pinpoint when and where you got herpes from. If you caught it you’ll have an outbreak around 3-10 days after exposer. It doesn’t lay dormant in your body for years and decide to just pop up on your wedding day from a slide you got 4 years ago. A blood test for herpes isn’t accurate because the virus hides in your body when a person is not having an outbreak, but just cause it normally lays dormant in your body during that time doesn’t mean that’s what happens when you first are exposed to it. You’d have a first outbreak (oral or genital) within the time period 3-10 or whatever it is, might be 14 days I don’t know the exact period of time.
