Looks like maybe it's happening again, Palmyra Rd, Crosspointe, and I think at least one other gone, and the other spots are very nervous. CL ads are dropping off rapidly in the last week, too. Looks like things are following Puja and Renew down the drain, but LE hasn't made any "look what we done to save you" announcements yet. I guess it's time to get verified with a real provider or two, and spend my limited funds a little less often, but with better results.

After shutting down just about everything around Buffalo, it looks like LE has moved their operations to Rochester.

Interesting timing with this thread. I'm sitting in the Sunrise parking lot right now and the place is closed. That has never happened before. There are no notices on the door. I just figured the girls were all sick till I read this. WTF

went by 250 /441 at 3:30 today. It is a distance from the road.. but it looked dark as I drove by. Channel 8 news had a "part 1" story on lyell ave last night,(see under alerts) with "part 2" coming tonight. Wonder if there is any connection

I think it may be a regional or nationwide thing. One county near me had local LE and ICE agents raid all of the AMPs within the county last Friday. Usually when they hit all the AMPs at once, it is because they are casting a larger net and are rolling up AMPs in multiple jurisdictions.

Be safe out there.....I would visit an AMP on a Sunday. ICE agents and local LE never make busts on a Sunday.

The recent AMP bust in Buffalo made quite a splash involving Feds from Homeland Security, NY State Troopers and local LE from several towns. Their 'investigations' went on for several months before pouncing en masse on the AMPs closing them down. They never mentioned how much taxpayer money was spent to protect us from these Dens of iniquity.

It seems the goal here is just to close them down. There have been few arrests reviewed. I think that most of the spas attract too much attention, and when there are complaints, they have to act. If they close them that seems to be all they are looking to do. If they can make an arrest and get some headlines out of it, they don't mind that either. Does anyone know just what did happen in Rochester?

I was traveling in Oklahoma City last week and stopped by an amp. They were sure nervous and menu was closed. Then I saw on TV a crackdown in progress. very aggressive LE in a town that has been a pretty good place for amps for 20 years.

    Additional data:

The AMP on Pitts-Palmyra in Fairport has a "Take Notice" on it. The details read that they needed to appear on the 21st of November to deal with Ordinance issues.

There is a discrete AMP in Cobblestone this had their "Closed" sign out. Don't know if that was purely voluntary but nothing was there to indicate otherwise.

I have a mixed feeling here. First, its too bad that the MP's are closing, but on the other hand, I support the INS/ICE crackdown. Lets keep the money in the US. We all know that they are collecting the money and sending it back overseas and we are not seeing any of it back in the community. Support your local provider and not the illegal aliens! For once, think with your big head and not your little one.

So, is anthing still open in Rochester? With the slim pickings in Buf, I can almost see making rhe drive. Gotta beat watching the Bills lose another one.

Penfield Rd is open, confirm it today and put up a review. The Rochester/Monroe County AMPs seem to still be advertising on CL but not outside of. No news reviews.

My take on all this. LE has more pressing issues than closing down Amps. If someone complains, and I am sure they have, Le is forced to take action. Now if you had a business right next door to an Amp you know damn well its not good for your business. They opened one on 12 corners in Brighton and I am surprised they stayed open that long. I mean are you kidding me? Brighton 12 corners? The ones in plazas are a bad idea. It is doubfull they will ever touch the one on Brighton Henrietta Tl road. Not bothering anyone or hurting anyones business. Same with the new one in Penfield. Out of the way, not bothering anyone. But the ones in the Plazas, next to a Medical center no less......

I agree with you about putting an AMP in a Plaza. It makes no sense. It has to be out of the way and away from other businesses.

Drop in convenience and reduced fee structure are two reasons why one might go to an AMP over a.... [fill in the blank]

They are always clean, quiet, smoke free, nice, no drama, no scheduling nightmares, no one knocking on the door, hiding in the bathroom, texting, no one calling or texting you back days/weeks later. You are in and out last minute if you want. I agree, I like this new Penfield Rd location. You blend right in with other businesses out of sight from the main road. It's all personal preference and what you are comfortable with. Wish we could set up a MP girl with extras just for the board. I think we could keep her busy without her advertising on BP/CL

I'm hoping we can arrange this in Buffalo after the first of the year. If they could just keep these places a bit more UTR, maybe the cops would leave them alone.
